Have a thirst for local liquor? Tom’s Town, the first legal distillery to open since Prohibition, opened last week in Crossroads. In addition to producing vodka, gin and bourbon, the distillery offers tours, a tasting room and event space. Founders Steve Revare and David Epstein drew inspiration from some of the most colorful characters of Prohibition-era Kansas City. In fact, the distillery and its spirits are named after Kansas City’s most corrupt political bosses, including Tom Pendergast – the namesake of Tom’s Town.
